Uusiutuvaa Energiaa – Renewable Energy
I recently read about the world’s oldest battery, Oxford electric bell, which has been ringing continuously since 1840. Although the sound of the bell is not audible to the human ear, and it does not tell time, it is still in operation.
Speaking of age, the world’s oldest person, Ethel Caterham, who lives in England, turned 117 in August. She has said that the secret to her long life is avoiding arguments, listening skills and the ability to make her own choices.
For many people, summer means refreshment and recharging. Our batteries, body, soul and spirit need renewal. Being outdoors, sunlight, family and friends, and different activities are empowering.
God cares for us in many ways and individually. Some of us need more quiet time for ourselves and time to pray.
There may be many secrets to a long life, but the secret of eternal life is faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eter-nal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” (John 5:24).
The Word of God offers renewed strength to all ages.
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD, will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:28-31).
Let’s go with peace and courageously towards autumn and new opportunities.
